Natalie

Natalie received a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Montreal, Canada, and studied at the College of Osteopathy in Montreal. She is a Certified Polestar Pilates instructor, trained under the direction of Shelly Power and Brent Anderson, and also a Pilates Method Alliance member. Additionally, she is a certified Xtend Barre instructor.

Natalie incurred a back injury at a crucial time in her life. After several years of Pilates training for herself, as a form of rehabilitation, she decided to help others heal themselves with this powerful and mindful exercise. Adding 15 years of ballet studies and performance, her passion for movement and proper alignment brought her to study Pilates for dancers.

Since 2009, she has applied this breadth of knowledge to her Pilates and Barre clientele. But, Natalie envisioned creating her own studio space with harmonious energy — an environment where everyone could work together to provide the highest quality services to clients of all fitness levels. In 2014, Body Aligned Pilates & Wellness was born!

Natalie also brought another dream to life in 2016 — her baby daughter! Up until two days before delivery, Natalie was still in the studio teaching Pilates. That personal experience makes her uniquely qualified to instruct (and encourage) pre- and postnatal clients.




MELODY

Melody began her study of Pilates while earning a BFA in Dance at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

As a professional dancer onboard Carnival Cruise Line and Princess Cruises, Melody gave herself a Pilates Mat workout before every show. By focusing on core strength and mindful movement, Melody discovered the foundational principles of Pilates were the keys to avoiding injury and to finding balance throughout her performing career.

Melody completed her comprehensive Pilates training through Balanced Body University and is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance. She is also a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance and is trained in Thai Yoga Massage through the Lotus Palm School. Melody is also a certified Xtend Barre instructor.

Melody encourages her clients to move with mindfulness in order to build strength from the inside out and make space for increased range of motion —  both physically and mentally.



Maria

Maria is a fully Certified Pilates Instructor as well as a Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) certified teacher. In her native country of Spain, she was a professional dancer. When she moved to New York City in 2005 to dance, Maria discovered the huge benefits of Pilates and decided to become a Pilates instructor. She completed her Pilates training with the Kelly Kane School in NYC and well known for their rehab-oriented approach.

Maria has been working with clients who have injuries: hip replacements, disc herniations, stenosis, scoliosis, osteoporosis, arthritis, knees, shoulders injuries, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Because of her dance background, she is also very interested and attuned to working with athletes. She has an extensive education in Pilates training for both tennis players and golfers. Plus, she created a Pilates program for football players, ranging from high school to professional. She most recently has been working with cancer patients and cancer survivors.

After completing a Posturology course at the St.John-Clark Pain Treatment Center in Clearwater, Maria is now a specialist in postural analysis. Take advantage of her ability to assess and correct muscular imbalances in your body by scheduling a postural assessment appointment with her.

 

Elizabeth

Elizabeth's experience in Mind/Body Fitness began in 1986 as a young, training ballerina. She utilized Pilates and Yoga techniques as a means of cross-conditioning and injury prevention. She continued her education and experiences with Pilates throughout her professional dancing and teaching career to eventually become certified by the Physicalmind Institute in 2001. She became certified by Artforms of Italy to teach the Master Stretch Boot Series that same year.

Elizabeth sought alternative methods of therapy following hip and shoulder injuries that resulted from a previous pregnancy and a later auto accident. She was so impressed with the healing qualities and relief of pain she experienced through the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® that she went on to become certified in the in the method in 2001. She has since continued her studies to complete over 2000 teacher training hours on all of the specialized equipment, Applications for Therapeutic Rehab, and to become a GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Master Trainer under the tutelage of the system's inventor, Juliu Horvath. Elizabeth is currently seeking her 200-hour RYT in Prana Flow Yoga under Shiva Rea.

The scope of Elizabeth's experience includes work with clients ranging from professional, training and retired dancers, performers, and athletes, to those seeking relief from chronic pain and injury, and the elderly, while also including the average individual seeking a means of looking and feeling better. Her commitment to her clientele is only exceeded by her dedication to continuing her education as the methodology behind Mind/Body Fitness and Wellness evolves. She seeks to create an experience based on each individual's specific needs, relying upon knowledge and intuition.

 

Shannon

Shannon's journey towards Pilates started at a young age. She grew up as a classically trained ballerina who studied with prestigious schools such as Houston Ballet Academy, the Chautauqua Institute, and the world renowned Juilliard School. Pilates was the best form of body conditioning for dancers to use, as it provided them with a wide range of tools to help them become more aware of their alignment and to help protect them against injury.

She received her Authentic Pilates certification in New York City. It was there, in 2002, that she finished the rigorous 600+ hour certification to become a 2nd Generation Pilates Instructor under the eye of Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates's protege. Shannon is also a PMA-CPT (Pilates Method Alliance), and holds a Bachelor's in Exercise Science from the University of South Florida.

Shannon's ultimate passion is in teaching, and YOU will always be her number one priority! She is so excited to return to Body Aligned Pilates & Wellness.
